The incident caused the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Two individuals are now facing charges following a luggage theft where a suspected irritant spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.

This event – described by police as was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
