The former president's Family Member Receives Expert Guidance from Tiger Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance
The rising star maintains considerable online following
Kai Trump will have numerous high-profile supporters as she starts her first LPGA appearance this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, was granted a tournament invitation to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
The former president, an avid golfer, operates numerous courses worldwide and regularly matches against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa basically told me to go out there and relax," she continued.
"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has competed in only three events recently and has ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
But she can get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer in the world," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's a more impressive human being. He advised me to compete, have fun, and go with whatever happens."
The golfer will compete against some of most prominent players in professional golf at the competition, including second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Officials commented that her participation helps introduce the sport to different demographics, particularly reaching youth audiences.
The social media influencer has a massive following and has started her own apparel and wellness label.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
