Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Windshield
A jet carrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed following standard protocol and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a high-ranking official has encountered equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to head back to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical problem.
