British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
